Happy St. Patrick's Day all! It's been awhile!

I went to a St. Patrick's Day assembly today at St. Andrew's Elementary. It was a morning of Irish jokes, trivia, song, and dance. In addition to the St. Andrew's Elementary school choir, special guests included Caroline Daley from Middle Island who shared her knowledge with the students during a Q&A session, and the Nelson Doyle Dancers, who blew away the audience with a great performance.

Although it only lasted an hour, the education and entertainment certainly made a lasting impression on the students. It's great to see a school promoting local history and culture in their curriculum. This was the kick off of a detailed learning path the students will embark on while exploring Miramichi's rich Irish heritage and the small island that shaped it all - Middle Island.
